The kids at the Lansing Boys and Girls Club are moving to a new beat.
Twice a week, volunteer Tina Miller leads a class at the Club called Generation Pound. Rather than just listening to music, the kids become the music with a high intensity workout.
According to Miller:
"Generation Pound is a kind of a rock-out workout. So, the kids get to enjoy music, but then they also work on balancing their muscles, coordination, self-esteem, self-awareness, but they don't even realize it because they're having fun."

Fall sports are in full swing, and that means a likely increase in injuries in general, including dental injuries.
According to the surveys conducted by the National Youth Sports Foundation for the Prevention of Athletic Injuries, it is estimated that there is a 10% chance of an injury involving the face and the mouth during sporting seasons.
Wearing basic protective devices such as properly fitting mouthguards, helmets, and faceguards is the first step in prevention. But sometimes, even that isn't enough.
However, if a tooth is lost due to a sports injury, or for any other reason, multiple treatment options are utilized to restore esthetics, comfort and function.
